If your vehicle is equipped with the rear convenience
system, there will be plugs covering the anchor brackets.
To remove the plugs, grasp the edges of the plugs
and pull them out. See Rear Convenience System on
page 2-56 for more information.

Lower Anchorages and Top Tethers
for Children (LATCH System)

If your vehicle is equipped with the LATCH System, it is
available in the second row outboard seating positions.

This system, designed to make installation of child
restraints easier, does not use the vehicle’s safety belts.
Instead, it uses vehicle anchors and child restraint
attachments to secure the restraints. Some restraints
also use another vehicle anchor to secure a top
tether strap.
