Chattanooga Intelect OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
Interferential Current
1.
Turn on unit (the main switch is on top of
the main screen on the left)
2.
Select “Electrotherapy”. This is the on the

row of buttons on the console
3.
Select Interferential Current.
4.
Select IFC 4 Pole
5.
Press customize:
a.
Adjust the carrier frequency (i.e.
4000 Hz)
b.
Adjust the sweep to “on”
c.
Adjust the beat low (this
corresponds to the lower
frequency on the second channel
e.g. 80 Hz)
d.
Adjust beat high (this corresponds
to the higher frequency on the
second channel e.g. 120 Hz)
e.
Vector scan (this adjusts the
intensity of the second channel)
f.
Adjust time (e.g. 20 minutes)
g.
Adjust the amplitude by rotating
the knob. This adjusts the intensity
on both channels. Output will be
displayed mA.
h.
Press start.
6.
If you want to stop treatment before
treatment is over, turn the dial down to 0,
or press the stop button below the round
dial. You can also pause treatment by
pressing the pause button on the round
dial.
7.
When treatment is completed, hold down
the power button until the unit turns off.

1.
Turn on unit (the main switch is on top of the main screen on

Press Channel 1.
3.
Select “Electrotherapy” menu (this button is located on the
first row of the console)
4.
Select “Pulsed Biphasic”
5.
Select VMS
6.
Customize:
a.
Channel mode: single (using one channel), reciprocal
(channel 1 goes on, turns off while channel 2 goes
on. When channel 2 turns off, channel 1 goes on), or
co-contraction (both channels go on at the same
time). Select co-contraction.
b.
Select the cycle time including:
i.
the ramp time (how long it takes to reach
maximal contraction, you can set this to 2
seconds
ii.
the on time which corresponds to the work
time (how many continuous seconds it’s on
for can set it to 10 seconds)
iii.
the off time, which corresponds to the rest
time (how long it is off before it turns back
on again, you can set it for 50 seconds)
iv.
Frequency. Select the appropriate frequency
for strength or endurance
v.
Phase duration (which is also the pulse
duration) set it to 300 microseconds
vi.
Time – total treatment time (if you want 10
contractions, and the work time is 10
seconds and the rest time is 50 seconds, then
this treatment will take you 10-minutes)
vii.
CC/CV – leave to CC (constant current)
7.
Increase the amplitude, once the desired amplitude is
reached and you obtain a nice contraction, hit the play
button followed by the pause button.
8.
Hit the back button
9.
Select Channel 2
10.
Repeat steps 3-7.
11.
When you have achieved the desired output on channel 2
press play.
12.
Select Channel 1 and unpause (press play)
13.
When treatment is completed, hold down the power button
until the unit turns off.
