RAP 2.57 Book in Elevator Sensor

The book in elevator sensor is mounted at the
bottom, left-hand side of the elevator, detecting
incoming books, Figure 2-87.
Possible Fault Indicators

Input jam, Conveyor and lift
sensors are active
is displayed
when there is no jam

A jam is not detected when there is a
jam
Initial Actions
Check that the sensor is aligned with the retro-
reflective tape mounted on the in-feed conveyor
roller.
Check that all cables are securely fastened to
the connectors in the elevator base.
Check and repair loose or broken wire 54 at the
power panel.
Procedure
1. Check that the sensor is not blocked. Does
the sensor data screen display (
2-1
)?
Y N
Short wire 54 to 64. Does the sensor data
screen display (
2-1
)?
Y N
Disconnect main power and replace the
main PWB (REP 4.22 Main PWB Re-
placement).
Go to RAP 2.56 In-Feed Conv. Book-on-Tilt
Sensor.
2. Disconnect wire 54. Did the sensor data
screen change to (
2-0
)?
Y N
Disconnect main power and replace the
main PWB (REP 4.22 Main PWB Replace-
ment).
3. Go to GP 6.10 Retro-reflective Sensors (PL
5.30 Elevator 56421 (4/7) or PL 5.36 Elev.
