CMT-130TC Book Trimmer 

RAP 2.10 Door Interlocks 

– Trimmer 

Inputs 8, 11, and 29 

Door interlock switches are located on each of 
the 

trimmer’s three doors: front, side, and rear 

(Figure 2-9). 

Possible Fault Indicators 

 

A “door open” message is displayed 
while all doors are closed. 

 

A door is open, but the machine contin-
ues to operate. 

 

A door is open, but no message is dis-
played on the screen. 

Initial Actions 

Check that all three doors are securely closed.  
Check and repair loose wires 83A, 102, 103, 
104 at the electrical panel.  Check and repair 
loose wires on all 3 door interlock switches. 

Procedure (does not operate with doors 
closed) 

1.  Does the 

screen show a “door open” mes-

sage?

Cycle power OFF and then back ON.  Then 
go to the diagnostic screen (GP 6.2 In-
put/Output Diagnostics). Open each door.  Is 
a tone heard with each opening? 

Y  N 

Perform RAP 2.11 Interlock Test. If this 
does not fix the problem, disconnect 
power and replace the main PWB (REP 
4.23 Main PWB Replacement). 

Disconnect power and replace the Open 
Door Indicator PWB (Figure 2-10). 

2.  Check the operation of the indicated inter-

lock switch and make sure that the actuator 

key engages fully into the switch body when 
the door is closed, and pulls out of the 
switch body when the door is opened.  Ad-
just if necessary (GP 6.11 Keyed Interlock 
Switches).  Did this fix the problem? 

Y  N 

Perform RAP 2.11 Interlock Test and re-
place any defective switches. 

Repair complete. 

Procedure (operates with a door open) 

WARNING 

Do not operate the machine until this switch 
is replaced and functioning properly.  Failure 
to do so could allow the machine to operate 
in an un-safe state.  Serious injury or death 
may result.

lock switch and make sure that the actuator 
key engages fully into the switch body when 
the door is closed, and pulls out of the 
switch body when the door is opened.  Ad-
just if necessary (GP 6.11 Keyed Interlock 
Switches).  Did this fix the problem?

place any defective switches.
