From the underside of the workbench, put the appropriate size washers, lock washers

 

and nuts on the bolts. Repeat these steps for the second mounting hole. Tighten all the 
nuts, securing the Vise to the workbench. This will mount it in a permanent position.         

See Figure 2.

USING UNmOUNTED CARPENTER’S VISE

1. 

Choose the location for working with the unmounted Vise. Attach the Back Jaw with 

Clamp (1) by turning the T-Handle (4) clockwise until the Bushing (5) (not shown) is 

flat against the under side of the workbench. Tighten securely. 

See Figure 3.

2. 

Turn the Handle (7) counterclockwise to open the Front Jaw (2) of the Vise. Place the 

work piece inside the Jaws. Tighten the Jaws  against the work piece by turning the 

Handle (7) clockwise until your work piece is held securely against the Jaws (1 & 2). 

Caution:

 Damage could occur to your work piece if you overtighten the Handle (7). 

Pads or pieces of hardwood stock (not included) can be attached to the Jaws (1 & 2) 
for further protection to your work piece.

3. 

To remove the object you are working on, turn the Handle (7) counterclockwise 

 

two to three times, opening the Jaws (1 & 2). Remove your work piece.
