CEN-TECH 91381 Assembly & Operating Instructions Download Page 3

12. Do not use the Vise if under the influence of alcohol or drugs.  Read warning labels on

prescriptions to determine if your judgement or reflexes are impaired while taking drugs.  If
there is any doubt, do not assemble or use the Vise.

13. Do not rely only on the vacuum to hold the Vise in place-see additional warning in the

Assembly/Operation section.  Make certain the Vise is used on a smooth clean surface free
of dust and debris to allow for adequate suction and a solid seal.  Never lean on or apply added
weight to the vise.  Always be aware of possible failure of the vacuum seal holding the vise in
place.

WARNING:

The warnings, cautions, and instructions discussed in this instruction manual cannot
cover all possible conditions and situations that may occur. It must be understood by
the operator that common sense and caution are factors which cannot be built into
this product, but must be supplied by the operator.

Assembly/ Operation

Your Wide Opening Vacuum Vise will require mounting to the work surface.  It is important that you
read the entire manual to become familiar with the product BEFORE you use the Wide Opening
Vacuum Vise.  Before assembling the Vacuum Vise be sure that you have all parts described in the
Parts List and Assembly Diagram located on the last pages of this manual.

1.

Set the Vise on a smooth, flat surface which is capable of supporting the weight of the Vise,
the workpiece and any accessories used.

Grasp the Lever (2), lift and turn it

counterclockwise.  Make certain that the vacuum seal is securely holding the Vise in place.
-Figure 1.

Note:  The vacuum seal offers a short term mount to a workbench or other work surface.
This vacuum seal is not be to solely depended on to safely mount the Vise under all
conditions.  The operator must use common sense and use additional clamping devices
(such as C-Clamps-not included) if conditions warrant.

2.

To tilt or rotate the Vise, grasp the handle on the Pivot Stop Screw (5) and loosen it by
turning counterclockwise.  Once loose, move the Pivot Support (6) so that the Jaw Guide (7)
and Fixed Jaw (8) are in the desired position-see Figure 1.  Using the handle on the Pivot
Stop Screw (5), tighten it down by turning clockwise.

3.

To open the Movable Jaw (9), turn the Adjustment Knob (14) counterclockwise until the jaws
are at the desired width.  Insert your workpiece.
