2. BEFORE USE
- This freezer features a packaging designed to protect it during transport. Remove the
freezer from its box and remove all packaging material. You can keep the original box and
other packaging in a safe place to prevent damage to the freezer if you need to transport
it in the future. In case the original packaging is disposed of, make sure all packaging
materials are recycled accordingly.
- Make sure all parts and components are included and in good conditions. If there is any
piece missing or not in good condition, immediately contact the Technical Support Service
of Cecotec.
Pre-checking
Before starting to use the freezer, check that:
- The interior is dry and there is enough space for air to circulate freely at the rear.
- Clean the inside of the freezer according to the recommendations in the ‘Cleaning and
maintenance’ section.
- Connect the plug into a power socket; the red light on the freezer will turn on. The green
light will turnon and the compressor will start running.
- You will hear a noise indicating that the compressor has started to run. Liquid and gases
within the refrigeration system can also give rise to noises, whether the compressor is
running or not, indicating normal operation.
- If you are going to store already frozen food, open the freezer door and check that the
freezer has reached the correct temperature. You can then introduce already frozen food.
- Do not store food in the appliance immediately after switching it on. Wait for it to reach
the correct storage temperature. It is recommended that you check the temperature with
a suitable thermometer.
Note:
- If a power failure occurs, do not open the door. Frozen food should not be affected if the
power failure lasts less than 20 hours. If the power failure lasts more than 20 hours, check
the food and consume it immediately or cook and refreeze it.
- If you find that the freezer door is difficult to open immediately after closing it, this is
normal. This is due to the pressure difference, which will equalise and allow the door to
open normally after a few minutes.
3. INSTALLATION AND TRANSPORT
Installation instructions. Fig. 2
- If possible, avoid placing the appliance near cookers, radiators or direct sunlight, as this
will cause the compressor to work harder than usual. If installed next to a heat or cooling
source, maintain the following minimum distances:
- Distance to cookers: 100 mm (4")
- Distance to radiators: 300 mm (12")
- Distance to refrigerators: 100 mm (4")
- Make sure that there is enough space around the appliance to ensure free air circulation.
The ideal distance is a space of at least 100 mm around the freezer, and you should make
sure to leave gaps as shown in figure 2.
- The appliance must be placed on a smooth surface.
- Do not place the freezer in a damp place to prevent the metal parts from rusting. Do not
spray water into the freezer, this will weaken the insulation and cause an energy leakage.
- Refer to the ’Before use’ section to prepare your device.
- If the freezer is installed in unheated areas, garages, etc., condensation may form on the
outside surfaces in cold weather. This is normal and not a fault. Remove condensation with
a dry cloth.
Transport instructions
- The device can only be transported in an upright position. The supplied packaging must
remain intact during transport.
- If the product is transported in a horizontal position, it should be placed on its left side only
(taking the front of the door as a reference) and should not be operated for at least 4 hours
to allow the system to adapt after the product has been returned to a vertical position.
- The device must be protected against rain, humidity and other atmospheric phenomena.
