Installation:
230V mains power is connected to terminals 23 and 24
The ground wire is connected to terminal 15
This provides extra protection against
lightning.
The equipment that is to be controlled
(e.g. an electric heater) is connected to one of
the
2 outputs on the unit.
See the example below where an
appliance is connected to output 2.
Output 2 is a potential-free connection.
Mains power can be connected to output 2
by connecting terminal 22 to terminal 24.
The equipment wiring is connected to
terminals 21 and 24 respectively.
If another appliance is to be controlled, this can be done at output 1.
Output 1 is also a potential-free connection.
Mains power can be connected to output 1 by connecting terminal 20 to terminal 23.
The equipment wiring is connected to terminals 19 and 24 respectively.
If appliance is to be connected that requires a different voltage
(e.g. a 12V battery
)
the voltage supply must come from outside the
TeleSwitch
unit.
If the inputs are to be used
(message or alarm)
a potential-free contact is connected to
input 1 at terminals 16 and 18, and for
input 2 at terminals 17 and 18.
Note!
Inputs 1 and 2 have a common terminal (18).
The installation can be tested on site.
Programming:
TeleSwitch
is programmed so that it can control
(switch on/off, start/stop)
or report back
(closed/open, message/alarm switch)
via the telephone network.
The following settings can or should be programmed:
Number of rings (1 to 9) from a telephone to
TeleSwitch
before it ”answers”.
TeleSwitch
should be programmed to answer after several rings
(4 rings are recommended)
so that possible wrong number calls are avoided.
,
A telephone number to which
TeleSwitch
is to ring if input 1 is activated and
another telephone number if input 2 is activated.
However the same telephone number can be selected for both inputs.
Mode for the individual function channel.
TeleSwitch
has 2 function channels, and each
channel can be set to be either an output or an input. See the next page.
A four-digit security code so that the person or persons who know
the security code can program or control and check the
TeleSwitch
.
On leaving the factory the
TeleSwitch
is preset as follows:
4 rings before the
TeleSwitch
responds.
,
No telephone numbers have been selected for inputs 1 and 2.
Mode 4, meaning
Channel 1
and
Channel 2
are programmed to be outputs
The security code is initially 4-3-2-1.
Staring programming:
-
Connect the mains power plug to the mains power outlet.
-
Connect the
TeleSwitch
by means of the supplied telephone cable
to the telephone jack
(in parallel with any existing telephone or fax)
and
press the
Code
button on the
TeleSwitch
.
-
the
Code
LED will light, providing that the
TeleSwitch
is ready for programming.
(If the Code button is pressed by mistake, the TeleSwitch may go out and light again
or perform a call to the TeleSwitch and when it responds, cuts off).
-
TeleSwitch
is now ready to be programmed.
Ring now to
TeleSwitch
from a different telephone
(touch-tone with buttons)
or preferably from
a mobile phone.
Note! A telephone plugged into the same telephone jack as the
TeleSwitch
cannot be used
for programming:
-
TeleSwitch
will respond with a "ding - dong" signal after which begin by pressing...
star
number of setting Star value for setting
finish by pressing
” #”
(
)
which (when programming
is to be programmed the security code enter 4 digits)
