System Requirements
Before you install a Cavium 45000 Series Adapter, verify that your system meets
the hardware and operating system requirements shown in
Table 2-1 and
Table 2-2 . For a complete list of supported operating systems, visit the Marvell
Web site.

Architecture IA-32 or EMT64 that meets operating system requirements
PCIe PCIe Gen 2 x8 (2x25G NIC)/x16 (2x40G/1x100G NIC)
PCIe Gen 3 x8 (2x25G NIC)/x16 (2x40G/1x100G NIC)
Full dual-port 40Gb and single port 100Gb bandwidth is sup-
ported on PCIe Gen3 x16 or faster slots.
Full dual-port 25Gb bandwidth is supported on PCIe Gen 3 x8 or
faster slots.
Memory 8GB RAM (minimum)
Cables and Optical
Modules The 45000 Series Adapters have been tested for interoperability
with a variety of 10G, 25G, 40G, and 100G cables and optical
modules. See
“Tested Cables and Optical Modules” on page 282 .
