Definition of installation categories
CAT III (measurement category III): It is the building's electrical installation
environment including sockets, fuse panels, etc.
CAT II (measurement category II): It is the environment of the circuits connected to
the outlets and other similar parts which are not an integral part of the electrical
installation. This includes for example household electrical appliances.
