Air conditioning system
WARNING
Maintenance hazard!
Never try to service the air-conditioning system yourself. Contact your dealer for service.
Failure to comply could result in death or serious injury.
W0268A
The air-conditioning system components require main-
tenance at regular intervals. Observe these intervals
to ensure correct operation and full efficiency of the
air-conditioning.
NOTE:
Run the air-conditioning at least once a week, even
for a short time.
The air-conditioning system contains
HFC R134
A
re-
frigerant gas which is subject to strict regulations. Any
problem must be solved quickly.
DANGER
Avoid injury!
Observe ALL precautions listed below when
servicing the air-conditioning system and han-
dling refrigerant.
Failure to comply will result in death or serious
injury.
D0043A
• The
HFC R134
A
refrigerant gas in use is a refrigerant
with safety characteristics.
• Though this refrigerant is nonflammable, nonexplo-
sive, nontoxic, nonirritating, tasteless and colorless,
it is necessary to take some safety precautions.
• Avoid any contact with the refrigerant. In case of
skin contact with the refrigerant, immediately treat
the skin.
• Wear safety goggles to protect your eyes. If, despite
these, some refrigerant comes in contact with the
eyes, immediately consult a doctor.
• Empty the system before carrying out repairs on it.
Do not let the refrigerant release in the surrounding
areas. To suck it, only use duly approved aspirators.
• Regardless of the system being full of refrigerant or
empty, heat determines a remarkable overpressure,
which could not only damage the system, but also
cause explosions.
• Avoid welding, heat sources or open flames near the
refrigerant.
• Empty refrigerant cylinders must not be discarded.
When full, refrigerant cylinders must not be exposed
to sun rays or other heat sources for a long time.
• The maximum allowed temperature for a full refrig-
erant cylinder must not exceed
45 °C
(
113 °F
).
