MODEL 62 ACCU-CRIMP 

OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS 

 
 

APPLICATION 

The Model 62 Accu-Crimp is a portable bench top pneumatic crimper designed to crimp loose 
terminals on to Discrete wire, Coaxial and Flat Modular Telecommunications cable.  
 

AIR REQUIREMENTS

 

80-100 P.S.I., ***

CLEAN AND DRY.*** 

 

DIE SET INSTALLATION 

 

STANDARD SINGLE  RETAINING SCREW TYPE 

1.

 

Disconnect air line from air source. 

2.

 

Remove (2) Screws

 from Top Jaw Assembly

 and Bottom Jaw 

#8706.

  

3.

 

Press down and hold Knob

 on top of crimper and insert die set. 

4.

 

Release Knob and re-install (2) Screws 

#8716

 into Jaw Assemblies. 

5.

 

Reconnect air line. 

Note:  Reverse procedure for die set removal. 

 

AMP DUAL PIN DIE SET WITH RETAINING SCREW 

1.

 

Disconnect air line from air source. 

2.

 

Remove locator assembly, die set and 4 die retaining pins from AMP hand tool. 

3.

 

Remove (2) Screws

 from Top Jaw Assembly

 and Bottom Jaw 

#8706. 

4.

 

Press down and hold Knob

 on top of crimper.  Insert upper die set(chamfer side out), 2 

retaining pins and Screw

. Slide locator assembly through screw and secure with acorn 

nut from hand tool. 

5.

 

Press down and hold Knob

 on top of crimper.  Insert lower die set(chamfer side out), 

2 retaining pins and secure with Screw

Reconnect air line. 

Note:  Reverse procedure for die set removal. 
 

OPERATION

 

1.

 

Press down on Knob 

#8710,

 insert terminal into die set and release Knob. 

2.

 

Insert wire into terminal.  

3.

 

Activate foot pedal switch.  

4.

 

Press down on Knob and remove crimped wire.  

 

 

Some applications may require you to install the terminal on to the wire first, then follow 
steps 1, 3 and 4.  

 

Coaxial connectors may require two separate crimping operations on the same wire. 

 

Check the instructions supplied with terminal connectors and follow the required steps 
needed.
