Communication problem with Pyxis
Procar

Some interface protocols can cause Pyxis Procar to stop communicating with the
console for a specified period of time. If this is the case, communications are
resumed after the protocol completes. If something seems uncharacteristically
wrong at any time during the process, contact the TSC.

1. Determine whether the Pyxis Procar has power:

•

If the Pyxis Procar power light is on, go to step 2.

•

If the light is dimmed, check the following:

°

Press the power button. It might have been turned off accidentally.

°

Make sure that the power cord is plugged into a socket and into the
back of the Pyxis Procar.

°

If power resumes, go to step 2.

°

If power still does not resume, contact the TSC.

2. Check the communication status between the console and the Pyxis Procar:

a.

In the menu bar of the console, click

CommStatus

.

b. In the Communication Status dialog box, check the Pyxis Procar device.

If the FC number continues to increment by one each time the device is
polled, the communication problem still exists. In this instance, check the
connection between the console and the Pyxis Procar.

3. Check the Communication Status dialog box again.

•

If the FC number goes to zero, the device has successfully linked and
should continue to run successfully.

•

If the FC number continues incrementing (does not go to zero), contact
the TSC.

NOTE

Do not unplug or power off Pyxis Procar unless directed to do so by a
CareFusion representative.
