PPLICATION
The
COMFORT VALUE
Deluxe sling (CVD) is designed for ease of fitting and comfort for the user offering
full femur support. The sling is suitable for most conditions and can be used in both wet and dry
conditions. The legs can be used in the hammock position and is suitable for above knee
amputations both single and bilateral.
Attachment type: Loop fixing.

AFETY
•
Only people trained and assessed as competent should ever use hoists and slings.
•
CVD slings come in six sizes. Ensure that you select the correct size for the comfort and safety of
the person being transferred.
•
Follow the wash care instructions carefully and never use bleach.
•
Slings must be thoroughly examined for safety by a competent person every six months or more
frequently if the competent person deems it to be necessary.

LING INSPECTION
(

3.1
Care & Independence slings are designed and manufactured to meet or exceed BS EN 10535:2006
Hoists for the transfer of disabled persons.
3.2
The maximum weight load is 200kg.
3.2 Slings should be inspected prior to use and after washing. The sling should be checked for the
following:
•
Stitching becoming undone, frayed, broken with special attention to the critical points such
as tape attachment and lifting loops.
•
Any signs of damage to the fabric such as tearing undue wear or miss-shaped
•
Signs of discolouring or bleaching of the material
•
All the label clearly legible
•
All parts of the sling complete

OMPATIBILITY
4.1 Care & Independence slings have been manufactured to work with most of the major hoist
manufacturers
’
equipment. A compatibility statement is available on request.
4.2 A risk assessment must be completed before using the sling, even if the hoist and sling is provided
from the same manufacturer.
