The direction of an object can be 
represented in term of either compass 
direction or compass bearing. 

z

 

The compass directions are North, 
Northeast, East, Southeast, South, 
Southwest, West, and Northwest. 

z

 

The compass bearing direction of an 
object is defined as the angular 
difference between North and the 
object while assuming 0˚ being 
North and measuring range from 0˚ 
to 359˚. 

z

convert between compass direction 
and compass bearing.
