When using electrical products, basic safety precautions should always be followed including
the following:
1. Read all instructions before using.
2. Do not touch hot surfaces. Always use handles or knobs.
3. Close supervision is necessary when any product is used by or near children.
4. Unplug from outlet when not in use and before cleaning. Allow to cool before putting
on or taking off parts.
5. Do not operate any product with a damaged cord or plug or after the product
malfunctions or has been damaged in any manner. Return the product to the nearest
authorized service facility for examination, repair, or adjustment.
6. The use of accessory attachments not recommended by the products manufacturer may
cause injuries.
7. Make sure that the voltage shown on the rating label of the product corresponds with
the one in your living area. Ensure that the wall socket is properly grounded.
8. To protect against electrical shock do not immerse cord, plug, or base in water or any
other liquids.
9. Never try to adjust the product yourself. If the supply cord is damaged it must be
replaced by an authorized service agent or qualified technician.
10. Do not use outdoors.
11. Do not let cord hang over edge of table or counter, or touch hot surfaces.
12. Do not place the product on or near hot gas or an electric burner, or in a heated oven.
13. Extreme caution must be used when moving an product containing hot liquids.
14. Always attach plug to product first, then plug cord into the wall outlet. To disconnect,
turn any control to off, then remove plug from wall outlet.
15. To disconnect slow cooker, push the off button and remove plug from outlet.
16. Caution: To prevent damage or hazard do not cook in base. Cook only in removable
liner.
17. Avoid sudden temperature changes, such as adding refrigerated foods into a heated
ceramic pot.
18. Do not operate product in any way other than the intended use.
19. The product is not intended to be controlled by an external timer or separate remote-
control system.
20. This product is intended to be used in a household environment.
21. Longer detachable power-supply cords or extension cords are available and may be
used if care is exercised in their use.
22. If a longer detachable power-supply cord or extension cord is used:
– The marked electrical rating of the cord set or extension cord should be at least as
great as the electrical rating of the product; and
– The cord should be arranged so that it will not drape over the countertop or tabletop
where it can be pulled on by children or tripped over unintentionally.
– If the product is of the grounded type, the extension cord should be a grounding-type
3-wire cord.
