Recording
Recording Video
This section explains the basics of recording clips*. For details on recording audio, refer to Recording Audio
(

95).
Before making important recordings for the first time, make test recordings using the video configuration(s) you
plan to use to check that the camcorder operates correctly. Should the camcorder fail to operate correctly, refer
to
Troubleshooting (
A
204).
* “Clip” refers to a single movie unit recorded with a single recording operation. You can also include metadata with the clip.
Preparing to Record
1 Remove the len s cap and attach the len s hood

2 Attach a charged battery pac k to the camcorder

• Insert cards into both SD card slots to use relay
recording or double slot recording (

4 S lide down the len s barrier s witch to OPEN to open
the len s barrier.

• The camcorder can add a user memo (

108) to the clips you record but you must prepare the user memo
file before you start recording. The user memo can be used to store film slate information such as the clip
name, camera operator and filming location.
