5.6 Service Mode

LBP5000 / LBP5100
The machine is equipped with service mode to enable the service person to check its condition. On a PC, enter the appropriate ID from the keyboard to add a special
menu to the Printer Status Window screen.
Starting Service Mode
1. Turn on the power so that the Printer Driver screen appears.
2. On the Drive screen, bring up the Status window [1].
3. Enter the appropriate password (*28*) from the keyboard.
4. See that service mode [2] has appeared on the Option menu of the Status Window screen.

- Replace the video controller PCB.

Fixing fan failure

Particulars
The fan lock detection signal (FANLCK) is continuously High for 10 sec or more
while the fan motor2 is rotating.
Cause
The fan motor2 is faulty. The DC controller PCB is faulty.
- Replace the Fixing fan.
- Replace the DC controller PCB.

Cartridge fan failure
Particulars
The fan lock detection signal (FANLCK) is continuously High for 10 sec or more
while the fan motor1 is rotating.
Cause
The fan motor1 is faulty. The DC controller PCB is faulty.
- Replace the cartridge fan.
- Replace the DC controller PCB.

The high-voltage circuit is faulty.
Particulars
An abnormal current is detected in the electrostatic eliminator unit.
Cause
The high-voltage power PCB is faulty. The electrostatic eliminator unit is faulty.
The DC controller PCB is faulty.
- Replace the high-voltage power PCB.
- Replace the static charge eliminator.
- Replace the DC power supply PCB.

The unlocking mechanism is faulty.
Particulars
The unlocking mechanism of the fixing assembly is faulty.
Cause
The shift sensor is faulty. The shift sensor lever is damaged. The fixing drive
assembly is faulty. The fixing/delivery motor is faulty. The DC controller PCB
is faulty.
- Replace the shift sensor.
- Replace the shift sensor lever.
- Replace the fixing drive assembly.
- Replace the DC controller PCB.
