Scanning Area
Originals placed in the feeder are scanned here.

Platen Glass
Place originals here when scanning books,
heavyweight originals, thin originals,
transparencies, etc.

Toner Cartridge
When toner runs out, pull out the toner cartridge,
and replace it with a new one. (See Chapter 6,
“Routine Maintenance,” in the
Reference Guide
.)

Counters
You can check the machine’s copy and print page
counts.

Front Cover
Open this cover to replace the toner cartridge or
drum unit.

Drum Unit
When the drum unit is full of waste toner, replace
it with a new one.

Paper Drawer’s Left Cover
Open these covers when clearing a paper jam in
Paper Drawers 2, 3 and 4.

Fixing Unit
If a paper jam occurs in the fixing unit, remove the
jammed paper carefully. (See Chapter 7,
“Troubleshooting,” in the
Reference Guide
.)

Duplex Unit-A1 (Optional)
The duplex unit enables you to use the 2-sided
mode for copying or printing. (See Chapter 2,
“Advanced Operations,” in the
Copying Guide

Left Cover
Open this cover to clear a paper jam inside the
main unit.
