EF 300mm f/2.8L IS USM
Image Stabilization adds to what’s
already a legendary professional lens.
The 300mm f/2.8L IS lens focuses
closer (down to 8.2 feet/2.5m), offers
the world’s fastest autofocus when
used with EOS bodies having 45-point
AF, is gasketed and sealed against dust
and moisture, and has a lightweight
magnesium alloy barrel and tripod
collar. Its image quality, aided by both
Fluorite and UD-glass, is stellar, and
its advanced IS even works on a rock-
steady tripod — as well as on a
monopod or when hand-held.
EF 300mm f/4L IS USM
Excellent optics and superb handling
in a compact package with Image
Stabilization. The IS allows safe hand-
holding at shutter speeds up to two
stops slower than otherwise possible —
making it even more useful in low-light
levels. It’s less than half the weight of
the 300mm f/2.8L IS, and it focuses to
an incredibly close 4.9 ft/1.5m, filling
the frame with a subject the size of a
postcard. Like all of Canon’s fixed focal
length L-series lenses above 135mm,
it’s compatible with Canon’s EF Extenders
1.4x II and 2x II.
