8.5.3 Identifying the Paper Size

The width of paper is detected with reference to the output of the variable resistor (SVR1), which operates in conjunction with the movement of the side guide.
The side guide in the manual feed tray is set when the user moves it to place paper in the cassette.

Calculate the paper width based on the A/D conversion value of the volume of manually-fed paper.
Set A/D conversion values for three standard points (paper width of A4, A4R, and A6R paper) to the backup RAM in advance. (Make the setting in the service
mode.)
