Pilot operated solenoid valves
Use and maintenance instruction
• Some hazards become active only after the product has been installed on machinery/equipment.
It is the responsibility of the end user to identify these hazards and reduce the risk associated.
• For information regarding product reliability please contact Camozzi.
• Before using the product, first read the information contained within this document.
• The content of this use and maintenance instruction, must be observed in conjunction with the instructions
and additional information available from:
- Website http://www.camozzi.com
- Camozzi general catalogue
- Camozzi technical support
• Mounting and operation must only be carried out by qualified and authorized personnel, in accordance
with the following instructions.
• It is the machinery/equipment designer’s responsibility to choose the most appropriate pneumatic component.
• For situations which are not covered in this manual and for situations where there is the possibility
of injury being caused to people or animals, please contact Camozzi before using the product.
• Do not make any unauthorized changes to the product. If unauthorized changes are made any subsequent
damage to equipment, people or animals is the users responsibility.
• It is recommended that every safety rule associated with the product is strictly adhered to.
• Do not interfere with the machine or appliance without first checking that the working conditions are safe.
• Before installing the product or beginning a maintenance procedure first ensure that any lock-out controls
are safely activated. The power supply should then be removed (if necessary) along with the pressure supply
system before exhausting all residual compressed air in the system. Next drain any residual energy stored in
springs, capacitors, reservoirs or vessels. Be aware of any machinery movement due to gravity when the air
is removed from the system.
• After product installation or maintenance, reconnect the supply pressure and power (if necessary) and check
that the product is functioning correctly. If a leak is found or the product is not functioning correctly then
it should not be put into operation.
• To reduce the noise caused by air being discharged from the component, use silencers or direct the fluid
into an area where do not disturb

1 General safety instructions
• When unpacking the product be careful not to damage it and pay attention at the cleanliness of the
environment.
• Size properly the passage of exhaust air, incorrect sizing can affect performances. The minimum cross
section shall be higher than 12,5 mm², corresponding to Ø 4 mm.
• Check the product for any damage which could have been caused during its transportation or storage, like
OR damaged or electrical pin bended.
• Separate any packaging materials so that they can be recovered and disposed of in compliance with national
regulations.
• Provide systems for locking the valve in place, using plates, pins, screw or any other retention system that
prevent the release of the valve when pressurized, taking care not to damage the product.
2 Mounting and commissioning
• The product must only be supplied with inert gas or compressed air filtered and without lubrication according
to ISO 8573-1 classes 2.4.2.
• The use of the product with liquids or not inert gases is not permitted.
• Connect pneumatically the valve in according with the scheme shown in figure below.
3 Use
• Do not exceed the operating conditions illustrated in the “General Characteristics” section in the Camozzi
product catalogue.
• Unless special permission has been granted do not use the product in environments where there may be direct
contact with corrosive gases, chemicals, salt water, steam or water.
5 Use limitations
• Take all necessary precautions to prevent the sudden release of work pieces; then remove the air supply and
allow the release of any residual pressure before intervening.
• Exhaust the pressure from the whole circuit.
• Do not disassemble when pressure is applied.
6 Maintenance
• Dispose of the product material according to the current environmental standards.

• For the electrical connection of the product, use connector
compatible with square pin 0,55 mm side and 4 mm spacing
between them (Camozzi code 120-J803).
• Provide the use of diodes, or other device for reducing
overvoltages generated during the release of the valve,
follow the example below
• Valve dimensions
• Before placing the component in housing, make sure that there are no burrs or other debris that could
potentially cause future breakdowns.
• In the presence of strong vibrations provide special devices / systems that can reduce the effect on the component.
• User has to provide a safe electrical connection to the valve.
• The valve housing must be made according to the drawing below.
