Camfil - Clean air solutions
• PM 1NDEX DEFINITION
The PM 1ndex will give an indication of your Indoor Air Quality and allows you to improve it.
With 50 years of experience in the Indoor Air (and data collection) industry and based on WHO* guidelines
on PM2,5 (annual mean exposition: 10 µg/m
3
), Camfil have defined an Air Quality Index which ranges from
1 (Very Good) to 5 (Very bad).
PM 1ndex
Air Quality
PM1 (µg/m
3
)
Typical Environment
5
Very bad
> 8.3
Industrial or no ventilation
4
Bad
< 8.3
Bad ventilation / filtration or no filtration
3
Standard
< 3.9
Standard office
2
Good
< 1.4
Good ventilation and filtration
1
Very Good
< 0.60
Pure air with air cleaner
Sources :
• Guideline WHO* on PM2.5: 10µg/
m
3
• Ambient Air Particle Mass Size Distribution defined in ISO16890: PM1 represents 70 to 80% of PM2,5 value.
• Hundreds of measurements in Indoor Environments thanks to Camfil Software: Air Image.
Note: Indoor Air Quality varies due to sources/activity/humans, etc. Always keep in mind that Indoor Air
Quality varies: PM 1ndex mode will provide a mean value for 15 minutes in order to cut off peaks and
erratic values. Don’t touch or move the unit during the PM 1ndex measurement.
4. REALTIME MODE
This mode will continuously display different parameters.
It will allow you to see the number and mass of PM1 in a particular situation. Temperature and Relative
Humidity are also displayed.
IAQ measurement
: Number of particles (0,5 to 1 µm) and PM1
value in µg/m
3
Wellness measurement
: Temperature and Relative Humidity
• Values of Temperature and Relative Humidity are displayed continuously
• Particle counting is displayed every minute (first display after 1 minute)
• Hold button to stop measurement
• Pressing the Selection Button will allow you to switch from one screen
to the other. The measurement will go on for 10 minutes (otherwise
the measurement stops)
