Balancing
Dolby Digital and Dolby Surround
signal processors provide an
electronic system for balancing the
sonic output of the left, center,
right and surround speakers.
When you activate this test mode,
it sends a “noise” signal briefly to
each channel in succession. Simply
adjust your unit’s appropriate
channel balancing controls until
the center and surround speakers
play the test sound at roughly the
same output level as the left and
right speakers. Once you’ve
adjusted your system this way, it
will reproduce Dolby Surround and
Dolby Digital program material
with the exact balance originally
intended. Consult the manual of
your Dolby decoder unit for
complete instructions on channel
balancing.
Cleaning
The Cabinets
If more than dusting is needed,
the finish on your center channel
speaker can be cleaned with a
window or vinyl cleaning product.
Avoid spraying the cleaner
directly on the speaker grilles to
prevent damage to them or the
speaker.
Dolby Pro Logic:
Set the surround mode on your
receiver to Dolby Pro Logic when
viewing program material encoded
with “Dolby Surround
®
”. Choose
the “
NORMAL
” center channel
mode on your processor.
If the program you are viewing
does not specifically state it was
encoded for Dolby Surround, or if
you are listening to conventional
stereo recordings, be sure to switch
your amplifier or receiver to a
surround setting that does not use
Dolby Pro Logic processing or
switch the surround processing off.
