Adjusting Burner Flame Size
• While turning the burner control knob, watch the burner
flame.
• Flame size should match the size of the pan. Do not
allow the flame to extend up the sides of the pan.
Flames that extend up the sides of the pan can ignite
clothing, make handle hot, or burn.

Canning
Canning requires sustained, high heat. While canning can
be done on the gas range, these precautions must be
taken:
• Canning utensil must not overhang the metal burner
grate by more than one inch on either side.
• Burner flames must be adjusted to canning utensil size.
• Canning must be done on front elements only. By
canning on rear element, damage to range backguard is
possible.
• Remove heat-susceptible items from area of canning
utensil and rangetop.
