3.9 Current Limit - Modes of Operation
When the 2001RP is shipped from the factory, it is configured for the Constant Current Mode
of operation. This mode means if the load current exceeds the programmed Current Limit
value, the output current will continue at the programmed value.
The 2001RP can be configured to operate in the Constant Voltage mode. In this mode of
operation, if the load current exceeds the Current Limit value, the output voltage will default
with the output relay open. The Constant Voltage mode is only usable if the default voltage
is set for 5.0 volts. If the default is any other voltage, the power source may display a fault at
power up.
To configure the 2001RP, remove the input line voltage connection from the rear panel.
Remove the top cover. Install jumpers W1 and W2 on the front panel controller. Reinstall
the top cover.
