29.2 Checking the lighting
Before cycling for the first time, make sure that the light cone of the front
headlight is correctly adjusted. At a distance of 5 meters, the brightest
area of the light cone should be half as high as the mounting height of the
headlight on the e-bike.
1. Place the e-bike so that it is straight and facing towards wall at a
distance of 5 meters.
2. Mark the target value for the brightest area (half the mounting height
of the headlight) on the wall.
3. Switch on the lighting
⇨ chap. 29.1 “Switching on the lighting” on page 147
4. At a distance of 5 m, the light cone may only be half as high in front of
the headlight as when it emerges (fig. 35).

29.3 Adjusting the light
Arthur / Antonia
1. Loosen the screws on the stem cap until the handlebars can be turned
(fig. 36).
2. Turn the handlebars to the desired position.
3. Tighten the bolts of the stem cap alternately and evenly (5-6 Nm).
36
If you change the angle of the handlebars, the angle of the
other controls will also change.
Then adjust the inclination of the other control elements such
as the brake lever, gear lever and display to the new position.
Oskar / Heinrich / Hannah / Emil / Emilia
1. Loosen the fastening screws of the headlight bracket (fig. 37).
2. Adjust the headlight.

Luggage rack and luggage struts
30.1 Warnings on the use of luggage racks and
luggage struts
!
WARNING
Risk of accident and injury!
Incorrectly transported or inadequately secured luggage can lead to
falls and accidents.
» Do not transport persons or animals on the luggage rack.
» Distribute additional weight evenly on the rear luggage rack or on
both sides of the rear luggage struts.
» Secure objects and loose parts on the luggage rack against slipping
and falling.
» Only use undamaged tensioning belts or VarioStraps to secure
luggage.
» If you use fasteners, e.g. tensioning straps or cables, make sure that
they cannot become caught in any moving parts.
» Always use robust saddle bags to transport your luggage.
!
WARNING
Risk of accident and injury!
Changed handling characteristics and longer braking distance due to
additional weight.
» Familiarise yourself with how it feels to ride your bicycle with addi-
tional luggage before cycling on the road.
» Perform a test brake application to familiarise yourself with the
changed braking behaviour.
» Adapt your cycling style to the changed cycling and braking char-
acteristics.
30.2 Front luggage rack
Depending on the model, your e-bike is equipped either with a front
luggage rack or a possibility for retrofitting has been provided.
The luggage carrier has a usable surface area of approx. 36.5 x 26.5 cm,
at a height of approx. 15 cm.
The scope of delivery includes two approx. 80 cm long elastic VarioStraps,
with which lighter objects weighing up to 5 kg can be attached to the
luggage carrier.
When the VarioStraps are not in use, they can simply be stretched over all
four corners on the sides (fig. 38).
Each tensioning belt is provided with 18 slots that can be hooked into the
four attachment points of the luggage carrier depending on the shape and
size of the transported goods (fig. 39 – fig. 41).
In the case of goods weighing more than 5 kg, fixation by the tensioning
belts alone cannot be guaranteed. Also note that the tensioning belts can
be overstretched under excessive load and thus become permanently
elongated.
The luggage carrier may be loaded with a maximum of 15 kg. If the load is
too heavy, the luggage rack and e-bike can be damaged.
Make sure that the e-bike stands securely when loaded.
Before cycling, the following things should be noted:
• The tensioning belts must sit securely on the fixing points.
• The load must not be wider than the handlebars and must not project
forward more than 15 cm beyond the base of the carrier.
• The handlebars must not collide with the load when steering.
• The ends of the tension belts must not hang down loosely (fig. 42), but
must always be secured to one of the four fastening buttons (fig. 43).
