8  Operation

8.1  Digital running time meter

Programming/testing the digital running time meter

Open the water supply line.

Switch on the product at the main switch.

Press and hold the MODE and SET buttons together for approx.

3 seconds and then release them.

Press the SET button once – the counter is now at the zero position.

● Press the MODE button once – BST flashes in the upper area of

the display.

● Press the MODE button once – AZT flashes in the upper area of the

display.

Press the MODE button once – the current set hours are displayed

in the lower section of the display.

Press the SET button to set the number of hours.

(Holding down the SET button counts up the hours quickly; when it is

released and pressed again, the hours are reduced).

For the product test mode following startup, choose 1 hour.

For the regular product mode, choose 9000 hours (equivalent to

1 year).

Press the MODE button twice – 00 appears in the display.

● Configuration is complete.

The product is ready for use.

Once the product test is complete, you must wait for the set hour. The

colour of the mode indicator (illuminated b) on the front of the device

then switches from blue (operation) to red (fault).
Following the test operation, reset the running time meter and set the

designated value for the customer (9000 hours).

9  Handing over the unit to the

 operator

Inform the operator about the function, operation and inspection of the

product as per the installation and operating instructions and hand over

all the product documentation to the operator.

10  Operator responsibilities

You have purchased a product that is durable and easy to service.

However, all technical equipment requires regular servicing so that it

continues to function properly.
Check the water quality and the hydraulic conditions in the system on

a regular basis.
To ensure proper functioning and to meet the warranty requirements,

regular inspections must be carried out by the operator (every 2 months),

and routine maintenance must be performed by the BWT after-sales

service staff or an installer authorised to carry out maintenance by BWT

(every 6 months).
The replacement of wearing parts within the prescribed maintenance

intervals is also required for the warranty and proper functioning of the

unit.
The operator is responsible for checking that the drinking water tank and

other components are in good working order, and in particular for the

hygiene of the drinking water from the tank and the circulation water.

BWT explicitly instructs customers to comply with the legal requirements

and technical regulations.

The operator must perform the following checks regularly to ensure that

the product functions properly.

Weekly check of air hoses for blockage, deposits or damage. Have

air hoses replaced if necessary. Note the sequence of flow.

Once a month or after stoppages, check whether there is water in

the air line on the injector. If there is, unscrew and bleed the line or

replace it with a new line. Check the check valve built into the injector

and clean the valve as necessary (paying special attention to the ball

and pressure spring).

The cleaning interval for the emitter casing tube depends on the

water quality of the circulation water. Elevated concentrations of

water hardness (calcium and magnesium), corrosion products (iron,

zinc, etc.), or organic or cloudy substances may increase the amount

of cleaning required.

Clean the dirt traps every six months or as needed (see chapter

“10.2 Cleaning the dirt trap”, page 28).

10.1  Removing the unit cover

The product cover is fastened with four screws at each corner of the

unit plate or frame. The unit cover must be removed for maintenance

and repair work. To do this, proceed as follows:

 DANGER!

Mains voltage!

Risk of death by electric shock!

Disconnect the power supply before any service

or repair work.

Switch the main switch on the unit to OFF and

secure it against restarting.

● Switch off the product’s main switch.

Unscrew the four round internal hex screws (T30) on the side of the

cover.

Carefully lift the product cover by the side notches. When doing so,

ensure that the earthing cable between the unit hood and switch

cabinet does not become damaged.

Put the product cover to the side and secure it from falling over.

10.2  Cleaning the dirt trap

The dirt trap is located in the product cover; therefore, remove the unit

cover first (see chapter

10.1).

● Close  the  shut-off  devices  upstream  and  downstream  from  the

 product.

Unscrew the cover (6.1) of the dirt trap.

● Remove the filter element.

● Rinse the filter element under flowing water and carefully clean it.

● Screw on the cover with the filter element again.

Attach the product cover and secure it using four screws.

● Open the shut-off devices.

The product is ready for use again.
