Speaker Bridging
Your Tube Driver BLUE Model 575 is a
discrete
multi channel
amplifier design primarily intended for “surround” sound
applications. As a discrete 5 channel design, speaker bridging is
not available.
Important Note:
Attempts at power bridging the amplifier
(connecting a speaker to any other terminals except the exclusive
+/- pair provided per channel) could result in amplifier
overheating, malfunction or failure. The minimum impedance
allowable is 4 ohms per channel.
Typical Applications
As a discrete 5 channel design, most multi-media applications will
require the addition of an extra sub woofer amp. We recommend
either the Tube Driver BLUE model 275 or 2150 as excellent
choices for your sub woofer system amp. Both are bridgeable to
2 ohms if desired and provide ample bass power.
If a greater # of channels is desired (such as required in 6.1 or 7.1
systems), a Tube Driver 275 may be added. It has the same
output power per channel and sonic characteristics at 4 ohms as
the 575.
Another option for a complete 6.1 or 7.1 system would be the
addition of a Tube Driver BLUE model 475. One or two of the
channels could be used for the extra surround speaker(s) and the
remaining channels could then be used for the sub woofer
system.
