The condition of both the operating liquid and the conveyed media depend on the phys-
ical conditions pressure and temperature.
At a very low pressures and sufficiently high temperatures the operating liquid can locally
transfer into the vapour phase, creating bubbles within the operating liquid. This process
is called “cavitation” and may deteriorate the machine and its performance, see
Recommended operating liquid (water) settings at various inlet pressures:
