Set up anti-skating
With anti-skating, you can set up the counterforce to balance the power of the tonearm.
This guarantees a flawless audio experience.
The record player is turned off .
1 .
Place the Burmester reference check record with
side A
facing upwards on the
turntable and switch on the record player .
2 .
Turn the
speed setting (1)
to the value
45
.
The record begins to turn .
3 .
Loosen the
transport lock (14)
if necessary .
4 .
Lift the tonearm with the
cue control lever (18)
.
5 .
Move the
tonearm (3)
to the middle of the free area .
6 .
Lower the tonearm with the
cue control lever (18)
.
The cartridge must maintain its position and not drift inwards or outwards .
If the cartridge does not maintain its position:
7 .
Turn the
anti-skating setting (19)
slowly clockwise .
8 .
If the drifting gets worse, change the direction you are turning.
9 .
Turn in the direction required until the cartridge maintains its position .
note:
Sometimes it can benefit the sound if you set up anti-skating so that the tonearm drifts
slightly outwards .
