Using the PiezoDrill to Break Off the Sperm Tail
To remove the sperm tail with the PiezoDrill, draw the sperm cell into the
pipette tail first. With the sperm head half in and half out of the end of the
pipette, give one sharp pulse of the PiezoDrill with the following setting:

Foot Pedal Control of Two Independently Adjustable Channels
Since the zona and the oolemma require different settings, the PiezoDrill
allows for two settings to be accessed instantaneously using foot pedal
controls. Thus, the zona can be drilled with one set of parameters and the
oolemma can be broken using another without having to adjust the
instrument.
