Setting Dial Capture Panel Format.
The unit is supplied preconfigured for pin only alarm input working. To additionally enable the unit’s dial capture port to
receive SIA, CID or FF from a panel’s onboard dialler, either change the “
Panel Type
” setting by accessing the Quick Start
menu as above,
OR
simply configure the unit with a DTMF telephone as follows.
Connect a DTMF phone to the dial capture port. (Adapter available from BT Redcare) Link the J903 CONFIG header.
Power cycle the unit and wait 15 seconds (6 flashing LED’s) Lift telephone and key # (The unit is now in configuration
mode for 5 minutes or until the telephone handset is replaced).
Set the panel format with the relevant codes as follows.
CID
*15 * 1
#
SIA
*15 * 20 #
Fast Format (FF)
*15 * 11 #
Once configuration is complete, replace the telephone handset and remove link J903.
The unit will restart with the new settings applied.
Learning Pin Polarity.
The Redcare Secure unit is supplied pre-configured with all alarm input pins being positive applied. However the “Learn”
function can be used to configure the inputs as required.
Link the J902 LEARN header.
Power cycle the unit and wait 15 seconds until the LEDs scroll the learn pattern (left to right to left) Ensure all alarm
inputs are in their normal state (including pin 4 in the Panel Set [Closed] state) Remove J902 LEARN header and check
that the LEDs briefly blink (Off – On – Off) at the point of learning. The Pin polarity has now been learnt by the Redcare
Secure unit.
