Classification of water according to its hardness
The most serious drawback of hard water is the precipitation of calcium and
magnesium salts that form incrustations. The pipes that hard water flows through,
whether hot or cold, become blocked with the consequent reduction in their
effectiveness. Pumping installations require higher power to obtain the same flow and
pressure conditions.
