.
Mic A
will be the microphone to the left of the start position (facing
forwards), and
Mic B
will be the microphone to the right.
3) Arrange the mounted Microphones as required by the test standard in use.
If this is a typical pass-by measurement, the front of the Microphone should be
facing the centre line of the test track and placed 7.5 m (24.6 ft) from it. The centre
line of the Microphone should be 1.2 m (3.9 ft) above the measurement plane
(surface of test track) with the body of the Microphone horizontally mounted.
4) Once positioned, cover the Microphones with the supplied foam Windscreens.

Note:
Although visually similar, the photocell and radar plugs are different, do not mix
them up as you may damage the plug or connector if you attempt to plug it into the
wrong socket.
2) Position the Radar Unit at least 60 m (196.8 ft) from the test zone, at a height
approximating that of the test vehicle’s leading vertical surface. Ideally, position the
Radar Unit as close to the test track centre line as possible – we suggest a distance
of 1.5 m (4.92 ft) from the centre line.
Note:
It is important that the Radar Unit be positioned to emit parallel to the horizontal
reference plane as this will minimize issues such as the radar beam wandering from the
front of the vehicle to the windscreen, resulting in an instantaneous speed change.
