2.7 PULSE Hardware Setup
2.7.1 Connection of Synchronization Cables
When using multiple frames (more than one Type 3560 unit), the frames must be synchronized.
The frames you have included in your multi-frame system may cause restrictions to the type
of synchronization that can be used in the front-end. The restrictions are as shown in Table 2.1.

Based on the above restrictions, you can choose the type of synchronization to use. Then
you must choose a master frame – this is the source of the synchronization signals.
AES/EBU and Types 7536, 7537, 7538, 7539 and 7540
The AES/EBU synchronization method uses 50
Ω
termination (JP-0069) at both ends.
Types 7536, 7537, 7538, 7539 and 7540 have a built-in 50
Ω
termination. The switch ‘First
or Last Frame’ enables the termination in position ‘Yes’ and disables it in position ‘No’.
Set the switch to ‘Yes’ on the first and last frame and connect the
frames via the
Multi Frame Control connectors using AO-0087 or
similar standard RG 58 cables (BNC). On the middle frames use
T-connection JJ-0052.
