Glossary
The following is a list of abbreviations commonly used in association
with telecommunication measurements. Some of the terms can be
found in this document.
Artificial voice
A complex test signal used to simulate human speech
having characteristics corresponding to the average human
voice. See

BSI
British Standards Institution
Capsule
Term used to refer to the transmitter microphone or
earphone transducer when separated from a handset
ITU-T
Abbreviation for International
Telecommunication Union,
Telecommunication Standardization Sector
. A committee
of the ITU that publishes recommendations regarding all
aspects of telecommunication
dB
Abbreviation for decibel, used to express a logarithmic
power ratio between two quantities.
