Broadcast Pix Slate 3000 Installation Planning Guide - October 2008
Page
All Slate 3000 switchers have three primary components: a 1 M/E control panel, a SDI video router, and a
4 RU workstation, which contains the Slate video processing I/O cards. They also include a 5 port 100BASE-
TX network switch to connect all the components, and a stereo audio break-out cable for the clip store.
A Slate 3016 and 3032 include a 16x16 and 32x32 router respectively. An optional set of (3) 6 foot labeled
cable bundles are available for convenience to connect the router with the workstation, but custom cables
may be used for longer installations. All external live SDI inputs and outputs connect to the router for I/O
flexibility and redundancy.
Although Slate can accept both genlocked and non-genlocked sources, the main Slate I/O card in the
workstation requires an analog black burst reference signal, as does the router.
