HOW TO INSTALL A DE-ICER

 

Read and understand this entire manual before operating this electric heating tape. 

NOTE: DO NOT INSTALL ON PLASTIC SURFACES. USE ON METAL SURFACES ONLY.

 

STEP 1 

Remove de-icer from packaging. Visually inspect de-icer. Do not use if torn or 
damaged. 

 
 
STEP 2

 

The flexible emergency de-icer can be installed on both a flat and/or curved 
surface. For a flat surface, lay the de-icer tape onto the surface to be heated. 
For a curved surface, wrap the heating tape onto the surface to be heated. 
Attach the de-icer tape to the surface by using an aluminium or fiberglass 
adhesive tape, rated to a minimum temperature of 170°F. 
 

 

Ensure the de-icer tape is not kinked, twisted, or any portion of the 
heating tape hanging free from the surface (A). 

 

Do not overlap de-icer tape on itself (B). 

 

Thermostat sensor must be in full contact with object to be heated. 
Sensor is located underneath temperature controller box (C). 

 
 
STEP 3  

Plug power cord into appropriate electrical power outlet.
