USING YOUR HOTCUP
®
Warning: Beware of accidentally operating the on/off
switch. If you do, immediately switch it off again
If your HotCup
®
has been switched on for more than
15 seconds, hot water will still be dispensed. Do not
attempt to move your HotCup
®
from the base. Allow
the water to escape into the drip tray. Beware of hot
water splashing from the drip tray.
If you have started the boil procedure and then
decide to switch off your HotCup
®
, always allow it to
stand for 1 minute before removing it from the power
base for refilling etc.
1. Open the lid and fill your HotCup
®
with cold water
between the MIN and MAX markings (figure 1).
2. Close the lid. Place your HotCup
®
on its power base
(figure 2).
3. Plug in your HotCup
®
.
4. Place a suitable cup with a tea bag, coffee, sugar, etc.
under the dispensing nozzle (figure 3).
5. Press the on/off button. The switch will light up blue
and your HotCup
®
will start to boil (figure 4).
6. The selected quantity of water will be dispensed
into your cup. Wait a few seconds before using your
HotCup
®
again.

BEFORE FIRST USE
Warning. The water tank will become hot during use-
take care.
Remove any packaging and promotional material from
your kettle and position it on a stable, secure, dry and
level work surface away from the edge.
Before connecting to a power source, make sure your
mains supply voltage is the same as the one indicated on
the appliance. Connect the plug to a suitable power outlet
and make sure that the power cord does not overhang
the work surface.
The first time you use your HotCup
®
, follow the
instructions below and discard the first full tank of water.
This will remove any manufacturing residue
DESCALING YOUR HOTCUP
®
To maintain it’s performance, your HotCup
®
will require
descaling once every three months or so. You may need
to descale your HotCup
®
more frequently if you live in a
hard water area.
1. Fill your HotCup
®
to the MAX fill level and place an
empty cup on the drip tray. Activate your HotCup
®
and
wait for the boiling water to be dispensed.
2. Add a citric acid based descaling product to the hot
water in the cup and stir.
3. Tip the solution into your HotCup
®
and close the lid.
4. Place the empty cup on the drip tray and start your
HotCup
®
. Wait for the water to be dispensed into the
cup then discard it.
5. Repeat this until the water level is at the MIN mark.
Open the lid and empty any remaining water into the
sink. Rinse your HotCup
®
by filling it with clean water
and emptying it into the sink.
6. Fill your HotCup
®
with fresh water to the MAX mark.
Place a cup under the nozzle and activate your
HotCup
®
several times discarding the water until the
water is at the MIN mark.
7. Open the lid and empty any remaining water into the
sink.
EMPTYING YOUR HOTCUP
®
If your HotCup
®
will not be used for an extended period
(e.g. if you are on holiday), we recommend that you first
empty it. Before using your HotCup
®
again, carry out
several boil cycles discarding the water each time.
1. Unplug and allow your HotCup
®
to completely cool
down.
2. Open the lid and pour out the water over a sink (figure
5).
3. Still holding your HotCup
®
over the sink, turn it the
right side up and allow any water to drain out of the
dispensing nozzle (figure 6).
4. Repeat until all the water has been emptied from your
HotCup
®
.
CLEANING
1. Unplug your HotCup
®
from the supply socket and
allow it to completely cool down before cleaning or
descaling it.
2. Clean the exterior surface of the kettle with a damp
cloth and then polish with a soft dry cloth. Do not use
steel wool pads or harsh/abrasive cleaners.
