Inserting the battery
Open the battery compartment cover (Fig. 2, 6) with a coin and a quarter turn in the direction of the
arrow (OPEN) and take it off. Insert the 3V battery with + side first, into the battery compartment.
Important note:
Make sure when inserting the battery that the polarity is correct (+/–) as shown at
the bottom of the compartment.
(Fig. 3, 15) Always replace weak or empty batteries with a new, complete set of batteries at
full capacity. After installing the battery, replace the cover and screw it firmly against the direction
of the arrow.
Operation
1. Look through the eyepiece (Fig. 2, 1) and point at an object approximately 100 meters away.
Keep turning the eyepiece setting ring (Fig. 2, 8) until the object looked at is in sharp focus.
2. Depress the function button (Fig. 2, 5) for about 1 second to turn the device on.
3. When you now look into the eyepiece (Fig. 2, 1) the function symbols appear in the lens coverage
(Fig. 3).
4. When turning on the device the measurement unit last used (M or Y) (Fig. 3, 10a/11a) applies.
Press and hold the Mode button (Fig. 2, 4) to change the measurement unit. The measurement
unit in the display will then alter.
5. Press Mode button (Fig. 2, 4) a few times to select the operating mode you want to work with.
Read chapter “Display System” (item 6) to learn more about the available operating modes.
