SAFETY WARNINGS
WARNING:
Ultraviolet light (UVC) can cause serious harm to eyes and skin.
NEVER look directly or indirectly at these lights. NEVER expose your skin to
these ultraviolet lights.
NEVER
operate the BreatheCLEAN air purification system outside of the
ductwork.
WARNING:
Ultraviolet light can breakdown the materials that are not rated for
exposure to UV. These materials include flexible plastic or vinyl ductwork, duct
board, non-paper air filters, drainage trays, and plastic insulation on wire. T o
avoid damaging these materials, mount your BreatheCLEAN Air Purifier at least
three feet away from the materials that could break down. If you need to mount
the BreatheCLEAN unit in direct line of sight of these materials, you should use
aluminum foil, aluminum tape or sheet metal to shield the materials from the
ultraviolet light.
WARNING:
Do NOT touch the ultraviolet bulbs with your hands. The oils on your
skin will create hot spots and can reduce the life of the bulbs.
WARNING:
INDOOR USE ONLY! Do not install this product outdoors.
WARNING:
In the case of a broken ultraviolet bulb, DO NOT touch the internal
components of the bulb. If your skin is exposed, wash all affected areas with a
mild detergent. Remove any clothes that have been affected by the bulb’s internal
contents. If skin is cut, seek medical attention immediately. Follow the Broken
Bulb Clean-up below.
Broken Bulb Clean-up Instructions:
The BreatheCLEAN ultraviolet bulbs are quite durable. However, in the event they
get broken, please follow the following procedures.
WARNING:
Ultraviolet bulbs contain mercury. NEVER touch any of the mercury
with your skin.
1. Wearing disposable non-absorbent protective gloves, pick up the large pieces
of the broken bulb.
2. Using a regular household vacuum cleaner, vacuum the entire area.
3. Dispose of the gloves, vacuum cleaner bag, and broken pieces of the bulbs
into a sealed plastic bag.
4. Check with your community’s waste management to see if there are special
disposal or recycling requirements to follow.
5. Be sure to wash hands and clothes thoroughly.
