Business calculator with tax calculation and currency
conversion
Turning on / automatic shut off
Pull the insulation strip out of the battery compartment at the back
of the calculator (see illustration a). The calculator turns on auto-
matically. If a key is not pressed for approx. 8 minutes, the calculator
shuts off automatically. To then turn on the calculator, press the «
on
»
key.
A Calculation functions
Braun ET 100 offers all standard calculator functions along with
memory and chain functions (for quick reference guide see back
panel of the calculator).
For tax calculation a tax rate, e.g. the valid rate of value-added tax,
can be programmed to the
«
Tax+
»
and
«
Tax–
»
keys.
1. Press the
«
Tax+
»
(or
«
Tax–
»
) key. A tax rate of 3 %, pre-set at the
time of manufacture, is displayed on the lower numeral line.
2. Press the
«
Tax+
»
key again. Now the value flashes and can be
changed.
3. Enter the value-added tax rate: e.g. 16 (or the applicable value-
added tax rate for your country).
4. By pressing the
«
Tax+
»
key again, 16% is stored for the
«
Tax+
»
and
«
Tax–
»
keys.
5. After entering an amount, and pressing the
«
Tax+
»
key, the upper
numeral line will display the amount plus tax (gross). If you press
the
«
Tax+
»
key again, only the tax amount is displayed. If you
press the
«
Tax+
»
key one more time, the (net) amount originally
entered will appear on the display again.
6. After entering an amount and pressing the
«
Tax–
»
key, the upper
numeral line will show the amount without tax (net). If you press
the
«
Tax–
»
key again, only the tax amount is displayed. If you
press the
«
Tax–
»
key one more time, the (gross) amount originally
entered will appear on the display again.
