This tool is intended to be used for fastening wood to wood
in pallet/crate and construction applications. DO NOT USE
for fastening harder materials which could cause buckling
of the fasteners and damage to the tool. If you are unsure
of the suitability of this tool for certain applications, please
contact your local sales office.
LOADING THE TOOL

Warning!
When loading the tool 1) Never place a
hand or any part of the body in fastener discharge area
of the tool; 2) Never point the tool at self or anyone else;
3) Do not pull the trigger or depress the safety yoke as
accidental actuation may occur, possibly causing injury.
1. Open the magazine: Pull pusher back to engage latch.
(Fig 1)
2. Hold nailer down with magazine tilted downwards.
Insert sticks of nails. (Fig 2)
3. Close magazine: Release pusher by first puling back
on the pusher and then pressing the release tab. Slide
pusher against the nails. Fig 3a (BRT130) and Fig 3b
(BRT160)
Note:
Use only fasteners recommended by Bostitch
for use in Bostitch tools or nails which meet Bostitch
specifications.
REMOVING NAILS
1. Disconnect the tool from the air supply
2. Pull pusher back until it is securely engaged
3. Slide nails back to opening and push out
CAUTION: THE PUSHER AND PUSHER SPRING
(CONSTANT FORCE SPRING).
Caution must be used when removing nails, because if the
pusher is disengaged from latch, it could spring forward
potentially pinching your hand.
Extra caution should be taken when carrying out
maintenance on the magazine area of the tool. The spring is
wrapped around but not attached to a roller. If the spring is
stretched beyond its length, the end will come off the roller
and the spring will roll up with a snap, with a chance of
pinching your hand. Also the edges of the spring are very
thin and could cut your hand. Care must also be taken to
insure no permanent kinks are put in the springs as this
will reduce the springs force.

installing, removing or adjusting any
accessory on this tool, or before
performing any maintenance on this tool.
• Use protective equipment such as
glasses, gloves, safety shoes as well
as acoustic protection. Remain vigilant,
use common sense and pay attention
when using the machine.
• Always wear suitable CE marked
eye protection when operating or
performing maintenance on this tool.

• Operate at no more than the tool’s
maximum pressure stated in column
“I” of the technical data table.
• Do not over-oil and do not use heavy
grade oil as stalling and low
performance may result.
