Summary Description
The RMSFLY accessory kit is designed for use only with Bose

RoomMatch

RMS215 subwoofer, while the RMSFLY218 accessory kit
is designed for use only with the Bose
®
RoomMatch
®
RMS218 VLF-subwoofer. These kits are not intended for use with any other sub-
woofers. Both kits are intended to facilitate integration of their associated subwoofer modules in RoomMatch arrays, which can include
combinations of RoomMatch full-range, RMS215 subwoofer, and RMS218 VLF-subwoofer modules.
To attach RoomMatch side-plate array rigging kits to RoomMatch subwoofers, follow these steps:
1) Remove subwoofer from the shipping carton, remove packing materials, and place the subwoofer on the floor beneath planned
suspension point.
2) For the RMS215, remove the eight flat-head screws using a #3 square bit on the left and right sides of the subwoofer (four per side).
For the RMS218, remove twelve flat-head screws using a #3 square bit on the left and right sides of the subwoofer (six per side).
3) Insert M10 x 40 mm fasteners through individual side-plates and then into the subwoofer inserts, tightening by hand as shown in
Figure 1. Note the Left and Right part markings for side-plates. After both side-plates are attached, the subwoofer is ready for
integration with other RoomMatch modules in full-range arrays.
4) Attach the subwoofer/side-plate assembly to its associated array frame or upper subwoofer and tighten bolts by hand to facilitate align-
ment. After all bolts are in place, perform final tightening using torque not to exceed 35 to 40 foot-pounds (47 to 54 Newton-meters).
NOTE:
U-shaped side-plate channel faces upward, the raised mounting bosses face the cabinet, and the oblong alignment slot at the
base of the side-plate points toward the front of the loudspeaker.

2) For the RMS218 subwoofer, the side-plate array kit is designed to fit the RoomMatch Large Array Frame WITH the Short Extender
Bar installed in the “In” or “Out” position. The RMSFLY218 side plates are designed to attach to the Large Array Frame. Due to the
depth of the RMS218 subwoofer, additional support is required by attaching the included rear-strap plates to the rear side inserts.
See Figure 2. These rear-strap plates attach to the Array Frame Short Extender bars during array installation. For details, refer to the
