9.2.4
Backlight Dimming
The backlight, background lighting of the display, has a limited service life, see
chapter 4.11 "Wear Parts" on page 33
The display features a dimming to extend the service life. This function "dark‐
ens" the display if the Embedded Terminal has not been operated for a certain
period of time.
The length of the time until the dimming is switched on, can be set under Win‐
dows CE in the "Display Properties". The Display Properties can be displayed
via right mouse-click on the desktop or via Start ▶ Settings ▶ Control pan‐
el ▶ Display.
The default value is ten minutes. Avoid waiting times longer than five minutes
to ensure a longer service life of the backlight.

The modified values for the backlight dimming have to be saved
with the "Save Registry" tool into the registration database.
