Position the holder for the guide roller
21
in
such a manner that the guide roller
9
faces
against the back of the saw blade. Precise cuts
are possible only when the guide roller faces
tightly against the back of the saw blade.
Tighten the screw
20
again.
The dust cover
15
and the splinter guard
19
cannot be used when performing mitre cuts.
Offsetting the Base Plate (see figure D)
For sawing close to edges, the base plate
6
can
be offset to the rear.
Pull the saw blade storage
5
out of the base
plate
6
.
Insert a saw blade
11
.
Loosen the screw
20
and slide the base plate
6
toward the vacuum connection
4
to the stop.

Sawing with the base plate
6
offset is possible
only with a mitre angle of 0°. In addition, the
parallel guide with circle cutter
24
(accessory)
as well as the splinter guard
19
may not be used.
Sawdust Blower Device
With the air jet of the sawdust blower device
7
,
the cutting line can be kept free of dust and chips.
Laser Line (see figure F)
The laser line shows the cutting line. Mark the
desired run of your cut onto the surface of the
work and follow the marked line with the laser
line while sawing.
To switch the laser line on or off, press the laser
line On/Off switch
18
.
f
Do not point the laser beam at persons or
animals and do not look into the laser beam
yourself, not even from a large distance.
After sawing, switch the laser line off again. Oth-
erwise you could be blinded while handling the
machine. For stationary operation with the ma-
chine (assembly with the saw blade upward),
the laser line must not be switched on due to
danger of blinding.
The laser line can be adjusted to the left and
right. Check the position of the laser line before
starting. For this, switch on the laser line and
use the control knob
17
to align it with a line and
the cutting line mark
12
on the base plate.
When sawing under unfavourable conditions
(e.g. intense sun irradiation) you can improve
the visibility of the laser line by using laser view-
ing glasses (accessory).
Starting Operation
f
Observe correct mains voltage! The voltage
of the power source must agree with the
voltage specified on the nameplate of the
machine. Power tools marked with 230 V
can also be operated with 220 V.
Switching On and Off
To
start
the machine, press the On/Off switch
2
.
To

PST 680 EL: After longer periods of work at low
stroke rate, the machine can heat up considera-
bly. Remove the saw blade from the machine
and allow the machine to cool down by running
it for approx. 3 minutes at maximum stroke rate.
Switching on the sawdust
blower device: For cuts in ma-
terials with high removal rate,
such as in wood, plastic, etc.,
turn the switch
7
in clockwise
direction to the “Blowing” po-
sition.
Switching off the sawdust
blower device: For cuts in met-
al and when using coolant/lu-
bricant, turn the switch
7
in an-
ticlockwise direction to the “0”
position.
