Bosch Power Tools
The vibration level given in this information sheet has been
measured in accordance with a standardised test given in
EN 60745 and may be used to compare one tool with anoth-
er. It may be used for a preliminary assessment of exposure.
The declared vibration emission level represents the main ap-
plications of the tool. However if the tool is used for different
applications, with different accessories or insertion tools or is
poorly maintained, the vibration emission may differ. This
may significantly increase the exposure level over the total
working period.
An estimation of the level of exposure to vibration should also
take into account the times when the tool is switched off or
when it is running but not actually doing the job. This may sig-
nificantly reduce the exposure level over the total working
period.
Identify additional safety measures to protect the operator
from the effects of vibration such as: maintain the tool and the
accessories, keep the hands warm, organisation of work pat-
terns.
Assembly
Before any work on the machine itself, pull the mains
plug.
Inserting/Replacing Diamond Cup Wheels
(see figure A)
Approved Grinding Tools
All diamond cup wheels mentioned in these operating instruc-
tions can be used.
Observe the dimensions of the diamond cup wheels. The
mounting hole diameter must fit the mounting flange without
play. The mounting hole of the diamond cup wheel may not be
increased. Do not use reducers or adapters.
The permissible speed [rpm] or the circumferential speed
[m/s] of the diamond cup wheels used must at least match
the values given in the table.
Therefore, observe the permissible
rotational/circumferen-
tial speed
on the label of the diamond cup wheel.
Inserting Diamond Cup Wheels
Select a suitable diamond cup wheel for the material to be
worked. Please also observe the material information on the
packaging of the diamond cup wheel.
Clean the grinder spindle

and all parts to be mounted.
Place the mounting flange

on the grinder spindle

that the centring collar faces away from the machine. The
mounting flange must engage on the flats of the grinder spin-
dle (anti-twist protection).
A plastic part (O-ring) is fitted around
the centring collar of mounting flange

If the O-ring is missing or dam-
aged,
the mounting flange

must be
replaced before resuming operation.
Place the diamond cup wheel

on the mounting flange

Pay attention that the direction-of-rotation arrow on the dia-
mond cup wheel agrees with the direction-of-rotation arrow
on the guard and extraction hood

Press the spindle lock button

to lock the grinding spindle.
Screw on the clamping nut

and tighten it with the two-pin
spanner

Pay attention that the collar of the clamping nut

faces away
from the machine, as shown in the figure.
After mounting the diamond cup wheel and before
switching on, check that the diamond cup wheel is cor-
rectly mounted and that it can turn freely. Make sure
that the diamond cup wheel does not graze against the
guard and extraction hood or other parts.
Changing a Diamond Cup Wheel
When transporting the machine, the diamond cup wheel

should be removed to avoid damage to it.
Do not touch diamond cup wheels before they have
cooled.
Diamond cup wheels become very hot while working.
Press the spindle lock button

to lock the grinding spindle.
Actuate the spindle lock button only when the grinder
spindle is at a standstill.
Otherwise, the machine may be-
come damaged.
Loosen the clamping nut

with the two-pin spanner

and
unscrew the clamping nut. Remove the diamond cup wheel

Quick-clamping Nut
For convenient changing of grinding tools without the use of
additional tools, you can use the quick-clamping nut

in-
stead of the clamping nut

Use only a flawless, undamaged quick-clamping nut 17.
When screwing on, pay attention that the side of the
quick-clamping nut 17 with printing does not face the
diamond cutting disc; the arrow must point to the index
mark 19.
Lock the grinder spindle
with the spindle lock button

. To tighten the quick-
clamping nut, firmly turn
the diamond wheel disc in
clockwise direction.
A properly attached, un-
damaged quick-clamping
nut can be loosened by
hand when turning the
knurled ring in anticlock-
wise direction.
Never loos-
en a tight quick-clamping
nut with pliers. Always use the two-pin spanner 18.
