Child Safety Latch
Your dishwasher is shipped from the factory with
the Child Safety Latch disengaged and in the
normal operating mode. Pull on the door handle to
open the door. The Child Safety latch activation
lever is located in the recess for the door handle.
You must look up into the recess to find the Child
Safety Latch activation lever (see Figure 24).
To activate the Child Safety Latch insert a
matchstick or other non-metal object into the
opening as shown in Figure 24. The activation
lever will release and move toward the left.
You have now activated the Child Safety Latch.
Each time you open the dishwasher door you will
need to
slide the activation lever to the right
to release the door locking mechanism, you can
then pull the door open (See Figure 25). After you
open the door you should release the Child Safety
Latch Activation lever and let it slide back toward
the left.
To deactivate the Child Safety Latch insert a
matchstick or other non-metal object into the
opening as shown in Figure 26. Slide the
activation level to the right and hold. Remove the
matchstick and release the lever. The feature has
now been deactivated and you can open the door
by pulling the handle.
Wait at least ten seconds or until water noises
stop before opening the dishwasher door.
To resume the cycle, shut the dishwasher door
and press the On/Off button.
Canceling or Changing a Cycle

For delicate or heirloom dishware and silverware,
or other special items, select Quick Wash after
referring to the Materials section
of this manual.
Hand-washing may be the best treatment of such
items.
More information on dishwasher cycles is in the
Wash Cycle Information section of this manual.
Starting the Dishwasher
Shut the dishwasher door.
Press the On/Off button.
Press the button for the desired wash cycle.
The dishwasher will start automatically and
continue operating until the end of the selected
cycle.
Once you start the dishwasher, leave the
dishwasher door shut until it finishes the cycle.
Interrupting a Cycle
NOTE:
Should you need to interrupt a cycle (to
add or remove an item, to add detergent, etc.), it
is best to do so within the first 30 minutes of the
cycle.
Press the On/Off button.
Selecting the Proper Wash Cycle
Items with baked-on or hard, dried-on soiling will
require either Power Scrub Plus or possibly
soaking and hand-scouring.
The Regular Wash cycle will thoroughly clean
large loads having loosely attached normal
soiling. Use this cycle for most soil loads.
Using the Auto Wash cycle will take the guess
work out of cycle selection! The sensors in the
dishwasher automatically adjust the cycle length,
temperature and water changes based on the
soil load.
Operating the Dishwasher
To avoid damage to delicate or heirloom
items do not wash them in your dishwasher.
WARNING
You could be seriously scalded if you open
the dishwasher door quickly during a wash
or rinse cycle. Do not fully open the
dishwasher door for at least 10 seconds or
until water noises stop.
Wait approximately one minute, then press the
On/Off button
You may now begin a new cycle.
