ORBITAL SELECTION SWITCH
Orbital action makes the blade work in an elliptical motion (if viewed from the side}, which
in turn causes the machine to work harder and faster. Not recommended for accurate work,
it is more suited to demolition tasks where the finish doesn't matter so much.
ADJUSTABLE SOLE PLATE LOCKING SWITCH
The sole plate can be adjusted to change the length of blade that projects from the front of
the tool. This can be used in a situation where you need to restrict the cut to just a thin layer
of material like cutting plasterboard without intruding into the wall cavity too far. To adjust,
you move the lever in the direction of the arrow and then pull or push on the sole plate
to
move the mechanism. Once the desired position is reached, return the lever to it's original
position and verify the sole plate is locked by trying to move it back and forth.
FLUSH CUTTING
With the use of flexible bimetal saw blades, projecting items (i.e. water pipes, etc.) can be
sawn off flush to the wall. Pay attention that the saw blade always extends beyond the
diameter of the pipe being sawn. Danger of kickback.
Position the saw blade sidewards against the wall and apply some lateral pressure via
the
tool so the edge of the pivoting sole plate faces against the wall. Switch the tool on and
make the cut, applying constant lateral pressure.
